Library Book Fairs
Springridge usually has two book fairs each school year. The children get
to preview and make “wish lists” during the first days of each fair. The
teachers make wish lists, too. Purchasing a book for the classroom or school
library is a great way to say “thank you.”
Proceeds from the book fairs are used to support the SRE Library program
in many ways. Examples include: new books for the collection, paperback
books for rewards, Character Day, Texas Bluebonnet Award reading program,
and author/illustrator/story teller visits.
Thanks to the volunteers and customers the school raised over $800 from
the October book fair. Watch for information about the spring book fair in
March/April issues of the Eagle’s Eye newsletter.
Please contact Miss Glidden, SRE Librarian, at shannon.glidden@risd.org
(469-593-8621) with any questions or to volunteer. Thank you for your
support!
Used Book Fair
Each February, the RISD Council of PTAs hosts a Used
Book Fair for the entire district.
Collect your used books throughout the year to be
donated at your local school in January. Books from throughout the district
are sold in a central location during the 4-day sale.
Proceeds from the sale benefit a scholarship fund that
sends RISD Seniors to college. As much as $35,000 has been awarded for
scholarships!
For more information, contact the Springridge RISD
Council Delegate or go to the Richardson Council of PTAs Web site.

you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact either the
