Gifted Programs Mission Statement
To develop potential in academically gifted students by
providing a differentiated curriculum and creating an environment that
addresses their unique learning needs and provides the tools essential for
them to become life-long, independent learners and productive members of
society.
We believe that differentiation in content, process,
and environment is accomplished through:
- A challenging, relevant content requiring higher
level thinking skills
- A heuristic approach to learning
- A focus on the development of independent study
- An environment rich in a variety of resources
- A supportive environment conducive to risk-taking
- Parent and community partnership and mentoring
- The integration of leadership skills and civic
responsibility
