Home Room Representatives

This
committee plays a very important role by providing a direct link between
the PTA, parents, students and teachers. Room representatives and
volunteers have an excellent opportunity to relate the purpose of the PTA
and to be the liaison between parents and teachers regarding legislation
and other school related events.
What does a Homeroom Parent do?
 |
Help
plan/implement 3 class parties (Holiday Party, Valentine’s Day Party, &
End of Year Party) |
 |
Help coordinate
refreshments for one General PTA meeting during the year
|
 |
Enjoy getting to
know your child's teacher, his/her classmates, and other parents who
generously donate time and energy to help make these events and school
year a success! |
 |
One volunteer per
grade will act as Grade Level Chairperson. This parent is responsible
for coordinating the planning of class parties along with the grade
level’s designated PTA meeting. He/she will contact homeroom parents
from each class for assistance. |
What does a Parent Volunteer do?
 |
In addition to
assisting with class parties, you may be asked to send a needed item,
help in the classroom, participate in field trips, or assist with field
day or other school functions. |
 |
Help once or as many times as your schedule allows!
|
 |
Be sure to sign in
at the office with your volunteer hours. |
How many Homeroom Parents and Volunteers are needed?
 |
1 Grade Level
Chairperson and 3-4 Homeroom Parents per classroom are needed |
 |
Many Parent
Volunteers are needed to make each activity a success
|
How will I know what to do and when to do it?
 |
Teachers may
contact you to accompany them on field trips or assist in other ways |
 |
A list of parents
who have volunteered will be provided to the Grade Level Chair |
 |
The Grade Level
Chairperson will be contacting you to discuss the following:
1. Dates, times and possible party themes
2. Ideas for food, treats, and activities/games |
Throughout the year, your Grade Level Chairperson and the PTA Room
Representative (Hayley Lee) will be available to help answer questions and
give advice any time you need it.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE A HOMEROOM PARENT OR VOLUNTEER, PLEASE
FILL OUT THE FORM AND
RETURN TO HAYLEY LEE.
There will be a brief Homeroom Parent/Volunteer
Meeting at 6:15 pm, Thursday, Sept. 17th (preceding the General
PTA Meeting). This is an informational meeting. Sign-up sheets will be
available to volunteer for Grade Level Chairperson or Homeroom Parent.
